On 27th February TRIPURA YUKTIBAD BIKASH MANCHA participated in a awareness program organised by PRAYASH, a social organisation at Maharanipur H.S. school, Teliamura. TYBM members performed on hand EXPLAINING MIRACLE program and discussed the root causes of society for why superstitions prevail till date in our society. program was interactive enough among the well gathering of students .

2 days workshop on earthquake, its consequences & remedial measures & role of NGOs was organised by 'North East India Mass Communication & Cultural Research'. Tripura Yuktibad Bikash Mancha' was invited as expert speakers on the field by the organizers. Members of TYBM demonstrated with a power point presentation discussing the science in a lucid manner. Organization laid emphasis on the science and research of earthquake forecasting and mitigation of the problem rather so called disaster management activities which are encouraged by govt. and non-govt. platforms now a days. TYBM rises the demand of adequate research in the said field and ensure the scope for study in geology, seismology, physical geography and earthquake related subjects in college and universities of Tripura as our state is situated in highest earthquake prone zone. After concluding the presentation a good interaction carried over with other experts,students, teachers and organizers attended the workshop.

Play 'Ekti udvaabaner nepathye' written by Tripura Yuktibad Bikash Mancha' & performed by Ramthakur College in inter college & university drama competition organised by State council for science & technology at Icfai university on 20th January. Play was written on the accidental invention of anesthesia. The key point of the drama was that any invention of science is a part of a historical development & not a contribution of any individual. But in existing capitalist system those people decide the future of science who invest for its experiment, that's why its contradictory to the interest of the society.

A team of 'Tripura Yuktibad Bikash Mancha' visited the spot & interacted with locals . Family was attacked home ransacked dinner prepared destroyed by mobs . cleric present was bitten. Later F.I.R. lodged & persons arrested. As usual Muslim & Hindu groups swung in action. Mistrust spread among neighbors all on a sudden. so called progressive & secularist educated gentry conveniently turned a blind eye. This expose the fact that state is not immune from this sort of incidents. Political parties irrespective of their declared ideology use religion to woo voters some use majority religion some minority card. why to blame only hindutwa vadis, all are birds of same feathers. why to blame only parties in electoral business when the system dont consider religion as a private matter & mix it with political system & rule.

TYBM said in the lecture that religion was started from the ignorance about the natural phenomenons. But when society developed in class divided society religion becomes a weapon of ruling class to run his system. In India Hindu /Muslim all rulers converted the religion of the people. Even in the British rule missionaries did the same. today what is going on, there is nothing new. All govts are taking role in favor of this system. Point is that, is our constitution are able to fight this situation or not. Answer is no. Because our constitution is not a truly secular constitution. It has changed the meaning of secularism. According to secularism religion is a private matter & state & religion will be separate. But our constitution declared to "equal treatment of all religions by the state".

'Tripura Yuktibad Bikash Mancha' was invited at special NSS camp of Nandan nagar higher secondary school on 18th January. seminar was conducted on 'Astrology a pseudoscience'. Near about 40 members of camp were present in the program. TYBM present a PPT on the subject. Narrators narrate how in ancient time some coincidental incidents reflects to the sky observers as a effect of heavenly bodies. It was very natural, because they didnt know the cause & effect relation. With the development of astronomy astrology already condemned. But individual fortune telling served the interest of ruling class. because it moves our eyes towards the sky instead of social system. That's why in this modern age govt allowed astrology in our higher education & gives trade licence to them. It really works for them.
